Gina Galati, soprano: Ms. Galati has performed numerous principal rolessuch as Rosina in The Barber of Seville, Musetta and Mimi in La Bohéme, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Nedda in I Pagliacci, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Norina in Don Pasquale, Gilda in Rigoletto and many others. She has performed with Opera Medellin in South America, Witchita Grand Opera, Atlantic Coast Opera Festival, Miami Lyric Opera, Naples Opera, Winter Opera St. Louis, Union Avenue Opera, The Southern Illinois Music Festival.
Ms. Galati was recently nominated for the best soprano in the Miami Life awards for her role of Norina in Don Pasquale in Miami. She is also the recipient of The Historical Society of St. Louis County’s James O’Flynn Community Service award for founding New Opera Saint Louis, now called Winter Opera St. Louis, where she serves as General Director. Gina also received the Father Leo Spezia Award for her contribution to the Italian American Community. She earned a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Music from Washington University and later received a Masters of Opera from the University of Kansas, then an Artist Diploma from the Academia Verdiana in Bussetto, Italy. Studying under Carlo Bergonzi, Gina performed numerous concerts throughout northern Italy.
Gina debuted with St. Louis Symphony Orchestra singing The Second Lady in the Magic Flute in 2012 and has sung as a soloist with The Bach Society, Compton Heights Band, The St. Louis Civic Orchestra, The Gateway Men’s Chorus and many other Musical organizations in town. Gina also takes an active role in singing for many charitable Organizations. She has donated concerts for organizations such as the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Logos Schools, and Habitat for Humanity and many others. Her efforts have raised thousands of dollars for other charities which benefit the St. Louis Community.
